New “Eisenhower Bridge of Valor” Aesthetics
The Jones Family Foundation was approached by the Red Wing Area Fund to partner on a project to enhance the construction of the new U.S. Highway 63 Bridge which crosses the Mississippi River from Red Wing, Minnesota into Wisconsin, the Eisenhower Bridge of Valor. The two foundations wished to ensure that the visual quality of this new “100 year” bridge and the approach reflected the warmth and beauty of the Red Wing community. A steering committee worked with the City of Red Wing to make enhancements to signage, landscaping and a “wash” lighting system for the underside of the bridge structure that would be dramatic and distinctive.
Construction of the new bridge was completed in late summer of 2020.
