guidelines

The Jones Family Foundation only provides grants to qualified 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organizations which are tax exempt as defined by the Internal Revenue Code. Funding is currently restricted to organizations which operate within a 30 mile radius of Red Wing, Minnesota. The Foundation also makes grants to federally recognized public schools and governmental agencies. No grants can be made directly to individuals.

Priority Areas

Most of our grant-making will be dedicated towards requests which advance efforts or address critical needs in the following areas:

ECONOMIC VITALITY

ARTS & CULTURE

grant purposes we will consider

  • Special projects of a limited-time nature
  • Start-up costs for promising new ideas or programs which align with our mission and priority areas of focus
  • Program expansion
  • Matching grants – funds to match contributions received from other sources or to provide a challenge to help raise new contributions
  • Capital funding on a limited basis

grant purposes we will not consider

  • Ongoing annual operating expenses
  • Programs of a religious or political nature
  • Direct grants to individuals
  • Endowments
  • Multi-year grants outside of our priority focus areas of Education, Economic Vitality and Arts & Culture
